The hunting season runs annually from October through January, in accordance with local regulations and harvest quotas. Pricing Adult moose: €4,000 per animal Moose calf: €2,000 per animal Prices include participation in the hunt, hunting arrangements, and guidance provided by the hunting organization. Hunting Area The hunt takes place in the forests surrounding Viitasaari in Central Finland. The area consists of extensive forests, wetlands, and managed wildlife habitats that provide excellent conditions for moose hunting. Requirements for International Hunters International hunters are welcome to participate. However, Finnish legislation requires certain permits and documentation before hunting can take place. Hunters must possess: A valid hunting license or proof of hunting rights from their home country A Finnish hunting card Permission to hunt within the designated hunting area Valid documentation for bringing firearms into Finland Proof of a completed moose shooting proficiency test or equivalent shooting qualification Moose Shooting Test Moose hunting in Finland requires a valid moose shooting proficiency certificate. In many cases, a shooting qualification completed abroad or an equivalent certificate may be accepted following evaluation by the Finnish Wildlife Agency. If suitable documentation is not available, the shooting test can be completed in Finland before the hunt. We are happy to assist our guests in understanding the requirements and preparing the necessary documentation before arrival. Guided Hunting All hunts are led by an experienced hunting leader responsible for safety, hunting arrangements, and coordination of the hunt. International guests receive guidance on Finnish hunting practices, current regulations, and hunting procedures throughout the experience. Travel Information The easiest way for international visitors to reach Finland is by flying into Helsinki Airport (Helsinki-Vantaa). From Helsinki, travel continues conveniently by road to Viitasaari. Transportation can be arranged separately if required.
