About This Experience

The Kolovesi Adventure

The Kolovesi Adventure takes paddlers 10–12 km a day (or more if we feel like it) on a completely stress-free excursion to camp and fish.

We will spend the day paddling to our next campsite, having lunch along the way and even trolling fishing lines behind the canoes if we feel like it!

Camp life and wilderness skills

The evenings will be spent cooking excellent food and improving your own wilderness skills in topics like fire making and navigation.

This is a relaxed getaway to immerse yourself in nature and leave your worries behind!

No previous experience is required.

Kolovesi National Park

Kolovesi is a truly unique national park in that it was specifically made for paddlers. Motorboats are not allowed within the park.

In addition, this is the best place in Finland to spot the endangered Saimaa Ringed Seal.

Your Guide

I trained as a certified Wilderness Guide through the International Wilderness Guide program in 2019 and have worked as a guide in Finland ever since.

Over the years, I have led kayak and canoe trips across Finland and worked for six years as a snowmobile guide at a four-star hotel in Lapland. Since moving to Central Finland, where my wife is from, I have also become a passionate and dedicated hunter.

Before beginning my career as a guide, I studied Anthropology and Politics and worked as a chef and bartender. This diverse background has shaped the way I work with people and the importance I place on thoughtful service, good food and genuine hospitality.

I believe that a memorable outdoor experience is about more than the activity itself. My goal is to offer every guest a high standard of hospitality and personal customer service — qualities that I feel are too often overlooked in the outdoor industry.
