About This Experience
The Finnish moose hunt is a cultural institution involving hundreds of thousands of participants every October and November. In Orivesi's forested peninsula landscape between Längelmävesi and Lake Orivesi, drives are conducted daily during the season across 4,500 hectares of club land. Guest hunters join a full 10-12 person drive team, taking stand positions based on experience and language ability. The club's hunt master assigns roles and ensures safety briefing in both Finnish and English. Successful shots are celebrated with a traditional "kaatoliemi" (field stew) cooked over open fire. Licence for one moose cow per group day included in the package.
