About This Experience
Orivesi sits at the heart of the Finnish lake district in Pirkanmaa, where dense mixed forest and dozens of lake inlets create perfect edge habitat for white-tailed deer and roe deer. The bow season opens in August — weeks before rifle hunters arrive — giving bowhunters a distinct advantage. Our guide has built and maintains 22 permanent ground blinds across 2,100 hectares, all pre-baited and tested for wind direction. Shots are typically under 30 metres. The guide teaches shot placement, blood-trailing, and field dressing. No prior bowhunting experience required; compound or recurve bows welcome. Maximum draw weight Finland: no legal minimum, but 45 lbs recommended.
