About This Experience

Bird hunting in Finland is at its finest in the transitional forests of Pirkanmaa. Orivesi's mosaic of young birch and old spruce, broken by wetland edges and lake shores, is prime woodcock habitat. Our guide works with trained pointing dogs (German wirehaired pointer and English setter) across 1,800 hectares. August mornings are dedicated to hazel grouse; September through October is woodcock season, with evening flight shooting possible. Capercaillie and black grouse are permitted within licence allocations from mid-September. All dogs are handler-owned and fully insured. Lunch at the hunting cabin included.
